Overview

Obermann CenterThe Obermann Center for Advanced Studies serves a unique role at The University of Iowa. Situated in an historic house on the main campus, the Obermann Center falls under the auspices of the Office for the Vice President for Research.

Obermann Center provides three categories of support and connection:

1) Through the Fellows-in-Residence program, we provide space and limited funding for individual faculty members when creative and research projects demand concentrated effort.

2) Our Affiliated Scholars are engaged in imaginative interdisciplinary collaborations that unite faculty members and graduate students from diverse fields and parts of the world. The Obermann Center provides these collaborations with funding, space, and administrative support.

3) The Center acts as a connector on campus, in the greater Iowa City area, and in the larger scholarly community through public programming and support for networks of artists, scholars, researchers, local citizens, and international colleagues.
