Event Location:

Construction of landform is a violent event. Roads, farm fields, levees, drainage swales, etc., create large footprints of disturbance when built. Recent advances in automated machine guidance (AMG) allow remotely operated machines to efficiently construct landform 24/7 from precise 3-dimensional (3D) digital terrain models. New representations of landscape, and their use in the design and construction of our environment, are evolving to converge with these new capabilities. The talk will describe these developments and the speaker’s research in this exciting area.
