Journey Around Our America

Author Louis Mendoza rode through Iowa City and West Liberty in preparation for his book Journey Around Our America — A Memoir on Cycling, Immigration, and the Latinoization of the U.S.  In conjunction with the Latino Midwest, the 2012-13 Obermann-International Programs Humanities Symposium, co-directors Omar Valerio-Jimenez (History) and Santiago Vaquera-Vasquez (Spanish & Portuguese) will lead a conversation about the changing demographics not only of the country but of Iowa City and some of its smaller neighboring communities. We hope some lively conversation about cycling around Iowa might ensue, too!
