This spring, the Obermann Humanities Symposium, "What Can Museums Become?", is focused on the future of the museum. Co-directed by Joyce Tsai, head curator of the Stanley Museum of Art and professor of practice in the School of Art & Art History, and Jennifer Buckley, professor of English, the 3-day event asks: How might we draw strength from existing institutions to enable vibrant futures? How can we expand the communities that feel a sense of belonging within and around museums? What must we confront and transform to make this possible?

We invite you to an informational session to hear about the symposium and to brainstorm ways it might help bring attention to your institution and your work—perhaps through your related classes, talks, exhibits, or events. While we don't have funding to support additional programming, we are happy to promote related happenings and work through our calendars and marketing. AND we welcome the opportunity to get to know you and your organization!

Joyce and Jennifer will share their plans for the symposium, including an overview of the speakers. We look forward to your questions and ideas for participation.

Please RSVP!

Free and open to all.
