UI Professor Melissa Tully (Journalism and Mass Communication) shares research on 'news media literacy’ and its relationship to consumers, publics, and news organizations and is joined in conversation by Little Village publisher Matthew Steele, one of the 7.125 billion publishers working today. The two will discuss Tully's research, the rise of self-publishing, participation, and grapple with the implications for existing news organizations working to maintain a foothold in a shifting media landscape.
