The Triangle Club Meeting with Dr. Bryant McAllister - "The Personal Genome - Navigating the DNA Marketplace"
Sophisticated genetic tests for human ancestry analysis are available directly to consumers at a relatively low cost. Personal genetic analysis provides a window into our past. Dr. McAllister will discuss the science underlying these tests and an overview of the products delivered by the companies that dominate the US marketplace, such as 23andMe and Ancestry DNA.
Dr. Bryant McAllister is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Iowa. He earned a B.S. in Zoology and a Master of Science in Genetics at Texas A&M University. After earning a PhD from the University of Rochester, he was awarded an Alfred P.
