Triangle Club Meeting with Joan Kjaer — "Beyond 140 Characters—WorldCanvass and the Power of Conversation"
The Triangle Club is honored to welcome guest speaker Joan Kjaer. Joan is well known for her work in Iowa Public Radio and her WorldCanvass series, produced here in Iowa City. Joan Kjaer is strategic communications director for International Programs at the University of Iowa. She directs the office of communications and relations and exercises strategic oversight and daily management of all facets of internal and external communications for International Programs, international alumni relations, event management, and media engagement. Kjaer is the creator, executive producer, and host of the monthly television, radio and internet program WorldCanvass, which features interdisciplinary discussions of critical international topics. Before joining International Programs, Kjaer spent more than 30 years working in public radio as a classical music host and producer, program director, station general manager, director of broadcasting for the University of Iowa, and deputy director and director of communications for the state network Iowa Public Radio.
