The Triangle Club presents "The Design and Programs for the New Voxman Music Building" by David Gier

Professor David Gier is the Director of The University of Iowa Voxman School of Music. He also serves in the office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development in a role that works on initiatives to support arts and the humanities, such as the “Creative Matters” Lecture Series. He is also the Principal trombonist of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. His recording of mixed chamber music featuring trombone, Toot tooT, was released on the Albany Record label.

Dr. Gier is a Graduate of the University of Michigan and Yale University, where he completed his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in 1992. His students hold faculty and numerous other posts around the United States.  We look forward to hearing about the design process and the distinctive features of the Voxman Building, the latest crown jewel for downtown Iowa City, and the over 350 concerts and presentations given each year.

Socializer begins at 11:30am, brunch begins at 12:00pm, and the program begins at approximately 12:45pm.
