The Triangle Club presents "The UI Museum of Art: Past, Present and Future"
Originally from Honolulu, Sean O'Harrow has been the director of The University of Iowa Museum of Art since 2010. Before that, he ran the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, IA. He moved to Iowa from the University of Cambridge, where he was an Official Fellow of St. Catharine's College. O'Harrow has taught History of Art at universities in the UK and received his AB from Harvard and his PhD from Cambridge (both in History of Art). His specific area of academic research is Late Perpendicular. As a way to learn about the "real" world, O'Harrow spent several years in the world of technology finance and hedge funds in London.
This talk will be about the history of the institution and how its past affects today’s issues, and what the future of the institution may look like.
