Jacqueline Biger

Jackie Biger is finishing her M.A.T. in English Education with endorsements in both teacher-librarianship and reading through the College of Education.  She earned her B.A. in English from the University of Iowa and her Masters in Library Science from Simmons College in Boston, MA.  After managing the collection, programming, technology, outreach and services of the children’s room in the Amherst Town Library in Amherst, NH, she decided to return to school to obtain teaching certification.  Jackie is very interested in providing both public and school library programming for underserved populations. She is working on creating sensory storytime kits that align with library standards and benchmarks for special education library visits and is also crafting programming for juvenile and adult patrons with learning disabilities at the public library.  Jackie believes collaboration between public and school libraries is significant to provide access to the joy of literature.
