Monica Correia is an Associate Professor in the School of Art & Art History in the area of Metalsmithing & Jewelry. She will dedicate time at the Obemann Center to producing and commercializing her designs in major cities in the U.S. and abroad. Using digital technologies and sustainable materials, she designs objects, jewelry and furniture. Correia will exhibit her work and attend Design Shows to establish partnerships with companies and industries to commercialize her work independently. Interaction with stores and design companies will let her create material about product commercialization for the undergraduate and graduate courses that she teaches and educate new generations of Iowan designers and businesses through gallery talks and presentations, about ways to market products developed in Iowa.
