Join the University of Iowa Museum of Art as it celebrates the history of Dada and neo-Dada/Fluxus on campus with the Dada Futures symposium, held in tandem with a UIMA exhibition. Events highlight how museums, libraries, universities, and the general public have shaped our understanding of these and other avant-gardes. Through a hybrid format of keynote addresses, themed panels, film screenings, and group discussions held on campus and downtown, we consider the power of interdisciplinary art and research evident in UI's past, and aim to develop practices that will sustain its future. This symposium accompanies the collaboratively curated exhibition at the UIMA@IMU of the same name that runs from 28 January–10 June 2018.
