Midwest Labor and Working Class History Colloquium 2018: Disorganized/De-organized/Reorganized

Saturday, May 26, 2018 - 9:00am to 6:00pm
The University of Iowa
(exact locations TBD)
Iowa City, IA 52242

Originally founded by University of Iowa graduate students of Professor Shelton Stromquist almost twenty years ago, MLWCH is an annual event hosted by graduate students at institutions throughout the Midwest. It brings together researchers and community members to discuss recent work in labor and working-class history. In addition to providing an opportunity for graduate students to present their work, the event will discuss recent changes to public-sector labor law in Iowa. The organizers are working to organize a community panel of local union representatives and activists engaged on behalf of local workers.

The keynote speaker will be Rosemary Feurer, Associate Professor, Department of History, Northern Illinois University. For more information, visit https://www.lawcha.org/2017/11/08/disorganizedde-organizedreorganized-mi...

Free and open to the public.

This event is hosted by the Department of History (CLAS), with support from the Obermann Center.
