James Martin, Professor of Music at Cornell College will give a presentation on Wagner’s Parsifal titled “Wagner's Parsifal's American religious provocations: From immoral to Christian.” This lecture will be presented in cooperation with the German Iowa and the Global Midwest events.

This is Act I of a Parsifal season for the Opera Studies Forum. In early spring semester Marian Wilson Kimber of the UI School of Music will be presenting Act II, a paper titled “Reciting Parsifal: Opera as Spoken Word Performance in America.”
