Thank you for your interest in our Humanities Without Walls Summer Internships! Please complete this form and ask both your academic advisor and your Director of Graduate Studies to send us the emails described below.

If you are selected to participate in the HWW internship program, we will try to accommodate your preferences; however, please note that placement with your preferred site partner is not guaranteed.

Your second internship preference

Please upload a cover letter, explaining 1) why you selected the internships above as your preferred choices, 2) the skills and competencies you would bring to these positions and that would prepare you to succeed, 3) how the HWW internship would benefit your academic work and/or advance your professional objectives.

Please also ask your Director of Graduate Studies to send an email to obermann-center@uiowa.edu by April 1, 2026, using exactly this language:

As the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of [DEPT NAME], I affirm that our student [NAME OF APPLICANT] is making good progress through our graduate program. I endorse this application for a 75% internship beginning June 1, 2026, and continuing through July 24, 2026.
