Getting Here

There's usually a bike rack on the west side of the Obermann Center, but it was removed during construction of the new Nonfiction Writing building. We hope that it will return in Spring 2023.

Free street parking is available in the near northside neighborhood.

There are two CAMBUS stops near the Obermann Center on Church St.: Stop 1010 (Red Route; Hawkeye Interdorm) and Stop 1011 (Blue Route; Hawkeye Interdorm). The closest Iowa City bus stop is at Clinton St. and Jefferson St. (North Dodge Route).

Download the Transit app for CAMBUS, Iowa City, & Coralville bus schedules, maps, & real-time locations.

Accessibility

There is a wheelchair accessible entrance on the west side of the Obermann Center at 111 Church St.

There are three single-user restrooms in the house—one on the first floor and two on the second floor.

Our staff strives to follow best practices for digital accessibility. If, while you are browsing our website or reading our e-newsletters, you find something amiss, please let us know.

In case of medical emergency:

There is an automated external defibrillator (AED) mounted on the wall in the first-floor restroom anyone may use to help those experiencing cardiac arrest. Learn more about AEDs. There is also a first-aid kit in the kitchen cabinet above the electric hot water kettle.

In case of emergency, call 911.
