Fall 2022 New Faculty Coffees

We’re inviting faculty who've arrived at the UI within the last 4 years to an informal coffee at the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies (111 Church St.) on September 14, 20, and 29.

We’ll be happy to answer questions about ways the Center can support your work, but our real purpose is to do what we do best—introduce wonderful colleagues from across campus to one another, creating intellectual community and, we hope, a sense of belonging.

Seeding Excellence: OVPR Community Engaged Scholars (Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences)

The Research Development Office and the Obermann Center within the University of Iowa Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) seek proposals for one-year OVPR Community Engaged Scholars (Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences) proposals. We invite pairs of UI faculty and community partners to apply for grants of up to $5,000. This funding will support projects in which a UI faculty member and a community partner collaborate on a publicly engaged, research-based project in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. The goal is for these teams to find productive approaches to solving problems the faculty and partner both deem significant.
